What role does desiccant play in the sealing process of insulating glass?

In the purchase of insulating glass machine, the selection of desiccant is also an essential part. Do you know what role desiccant plays in insulating glass processing?

1. It can absorb the moisture in the air layer during the production and sealing of insulating glass.

2. Absorption of volatile organic solvents

3. Absorb water vapor that enters the air layer of insulating glass every day. It is also required that the desiccant does not adsorb air or inert gases in the air layer. Therefore, the best choice in the production process of insulating glass is 3A molecular sieve.

4. The radius of water molecules is smaller than the pore size of 3A molecular sieve and can be adsorbed by 3A molecular sieve. However, the molecular radius of oxygen, nitrogen and other gases is larger than the pore size of 3A molecular sieve and cannot be adsorbed by 3A molecular sieve. Therefore, although there are many types of molecular sieves, according to the requirements for desiccant in insulating glass manufacturing, only 3A molecular sieve is the most suitable for insulating glass.
